This is a concept branding project to showcase my branding design capabilities.

Worker bee app

I chose to develop a prototype for a task management app. This app has the functionality of a To-Do list but with a twist! As a mom, I encourage my kids to complete their responsibilities on time and well by creating incentives in the form of sticker charts and points for appropriate behavior and completed tasks. This app gives adults the same opportunity to incentivize completing To-Do list items. If it works for kids, why not adults? The user can assign a value to each task and add custom rewards to track their progress. The user can also include friends, which adds a sense of community and accountability.

The app's name is WorkerBee. The Brand I developed stems from the known work ethic of bees and the sweet honey they make. This idea gave me a strong visual and emotional connection to build on. There is excellent word association mixed in with the Brand, which further connects the app's premise to the relation of bee work ethic. Examples of this include:

  • The buzz you get from finishing tasks

  • Honeycomb coins (points system for tracking progress)

  • The Hive (community center for encouragement and accountability)

Working prototype

The final prototype includes the following features:

  • A login screen

  • A footer navigation that connects to the main pages of the app

  • A search bar page that features the list item “Laundry” and a mark complete function

  • A Notifications page with a swipe feature on the top notification

  • A Home page with functioning card buttons

  • A “Refer a Friend” feature on the Home Page

  • A Checklist page with a functioning “Chores” button

  • On the “Chores” list, the user can mark “Laundry” complete

  • A Rewards page with a functioning “Girls Night” button

  • On the Hive page, the user can "Encourage a Friend" by clicking on “Kayley”
